May 18th, 2006 Friends (favorite post)

Well I’m not sure where this post should go. Not even sure if I should be posting it. But I will. I have a feeling a changing of friends is on it’s way. This makes me sad and happy at the same time. Enough said on that.

Here is what I look for in a friend. BTW, I usually hang out with hubby’s friends because I get tired of the crap from women. Just in case you haven’t been reading past posts.
1. No whining. Bitching is just fine. It makes us feel better to get it off our chest. But whining means that you want to rehash it and rehash it and hope that everyone feels sorry for you. I don’t have time for you.
2. No guilt trips. If I’m busy, I’m busy. I will call you. But don’t spend the first 5 minutes of the conversation laying a guilt trip on me. I probably only had 5 minutes for the conversation.

3. Respect that I want to hang with hubby. Yes, I do love to go out with the girls. But, I don’t want to go out and check out guys. I don’t necessarily want to go out and dance with many other guys. I married my hubby for a reason. I know it’s a novel idea, but (shockingly) he is my best friend and we (gasp) enjoy each others company.

4. Get out of the mall. I don’t do malls. The only malls I will walk around and waste time in, have my daughter in them. I will go and spend time with her cause she wants to be there. Otherwise, 4 stores is about my limit. I don’t have enough time to do the mall all day and I definitely don’t have the money!

I’m sure there are a few more, but those are the real one’s that matter. It’s no surprise to most that I’m not a girly-girl. It’s just me. Don’t gasp because I’ve used the same purse for over a year. lol My daughter has a ton of purses already, so I’m starting to use hers. I will be ok. Meet me at the top of the ski lift and we’ll chat on the way down. Oh wait, you’ll have to catch me. I’ll meet you in the bar for a pitcher. I don’t do just glasses of beer. ;) Toast to my new friend!
